Job:                     Quality Improvement Engineer

Location:            Leeds

Hours:                 7.00am-3.15pm (Monday to Thursday), 7.00am-2.30pm (Friday)

Salary:                 £40 – £44kpa

Contract:           Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Quality Improvement Engineer to join a leading precision manufacturing business. This is a hands-on, shop floor-based role focused on driving continuous improvement, reducing waste, strengthening process capability, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause investigations using 8D, DMAIC and 5 Whys
  • Drive improvements to reduce defects, scrap and rework
  • Analyse manufacturing data and identify improvement opportunities
  • Apply SPC, Cp/Cpk and MSA techniques to improve process performance
  • Support ISO 13485 compliance, audits and QMS development
  • Develop SOPs, quality documentation and training programmes
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams
  • Support customer issue resolution and improve quality performance

About You

  • 7+ years’ experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
  • Experience with SPC, Minitab or similar statistical tools
  • Solid understanding of ISO 13485 and regulated manufacturing environments
  • Confident influencing teams and driving change

Desirable

  • Medical device, aerospace or precision engineering experience
  • CNC machining knowledge
  • Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • CMM and measurement systems experience
