We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to take responsibility for a CNC manufacturing operation, leading a team of approximately 25 employees across a busy and fast-paced production environment. This organisation is the UK’s leading manufacturing of wood construction supplies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong people manager with a manufacturing background who can drive productivity, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of safety. As the Production Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the CNC manufacturing facility. You will lead and develop a team of operators, and support staff, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional quality standards. You must thrive in a manufacturing environment and has a passion for developing people and improving processes.

You will work closely with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, and continuous improvement to maximise productivity, improve operational performance, and support the continued growth of the business.

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Exhall, Coventry

Salary: Up to £47,000.00

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Mon – Thurs 6.30am – 3.30pm & Fri 6.30am – 12.30am

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of approximately 25 production employees
• Ensure production schedules are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards
• Drive performance across all CNC manufacturing operations
• Develop, coach, and motivate team members to achieve their full potential
• Monitor production KPIs, including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve performance
• Ensure effective labour planning and resource utilisation
• Work with the maintenance team to maximise machine uptime and reliability
• Maintain high housekeeping standards through 5S and visual management principles
• Lead recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning activities
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence

To be considered:

• Proven experience as a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager
• Experience managing teams of 20+ employees
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and a manufacturing processes
• Demonstrable leadership and people management skills
• Experience driving productivity, quality, and operational improvements
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Health and safety focused with a commitment to best practice
• Experience within woodworking, timber engineering, furniture, staircase, or construction product manufacturing
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, OEE, 5S, and visual management.
• Understanding of CNC programming and tooling
• Experience working within a fast-paced production environment supplying the construction or housebuilding sector
