Job Title: Production and Packaging Operative

Location: Wincanton, Somerset
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (12-week probation via agency)
Start Date: ASAP

Pay & Hours:

• Hourly Rate: £12.90/hr (rising to £14.16/hr after 12 weeks)

Shift Pattern: 5 days a week (39 hours) with a Weekly Rotation required of:

• Mornings: Mon–Thu 6:00am–2:00pm, Fri 6:00am–1:00pm
• Afternoons: Mon–Thu 2:00pm–10:00pm, Fri 1:00pm–8:00pm
• Overtime: Available during busy periods
• (Must be able to work both shifts!)

About the Role

You’ll join a global food manufacturer producing marinades, sauces, and seasonings for major UK retailers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a clean, well-organised environment with full training provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring food production machinery and equipment.
• Setting up machines and adjusting controls to ensure efficient production.
• Following production schedules and meeting daily output targets.Carrying out quality checks on products to ensure they meet company and food safety standards.
• Identifying and reporting machinery faults or production issues.Performing basic machine maintenance and cleaning tasks.Ensuring ingredients, packaging, and materials are supplied to production lines as needed.Recording production data, downtime, and quality control information.Following food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.Working collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams.Reducing waste and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
