I am seeking a Manual Metal Finisher to join a business based in Leeds.

This company delivers high performance precision engineering solutions to the healthcare / aerospace sector. They specialise in manufacturing complex components, prototypes and production surgical instruments for medical procedures.

Job Title: Manual Metal Finisher

Location: Leeds (relocating to Castleford within 12 months)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £35,000.00

Hours: Monday to Friday day shift – Monday – Thursday 7am – 3.15pm, Friday 7am – 2.30pm

In this role, you will be responsible for manually refining and finishing metal components through various manual processes. You will ensure dimensional accuracy, and surface finish meet precise quality and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have a methodical approach to their work, a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of pride in delivering high-quality results, and the ability to meet deadlines effectively.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Manual deburring of machined components (small precision parts if medical / aerospace)
• Use of hand tools (files, scrapers, deburring blades, stones)
• Polishing and surface finishing to drawing requirements
• Removal of sharp edges and blending of radii
• Working under magnification (microscope/loupe if required)
• Visual inspection of components against drawings and standards
• Identifying non-conformances and escalating issues
• Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and part protection
• Recording job completion and batch traceability (if regulated environment)

To be considered:

• Previous experience in manual metal finishing / deburring
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Understanding of tolerances and surface finish requirements
• High attention to detail
• Good manual dexterity
• Experience working to tight tolerances (especially if medical components)
• Familiarity with stainless steel, titanium, aluminium
