• Hours: 39 hours per week working on a rotating double day shift pattern of mornings and afternoon shifts (with early finishes on a Friday’s!) – Mornings – Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am – 1pm. Afternoons– Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 1pm – 8pm

Working for a lovely Global food manufacturing business who specialises in high quality food ingredients including marinades, Sauces, and Dressings.

The purpose of the role

Carries out tasks concerning maintenance, repair, revision, and positioning of:

• Electrical & Mechanical Equipment
• Electrical & Mechanical Installations
• Supporting Resources
• Buildings
• Utility Services

Role Responsibilities

• Mechanical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
• Electrical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution systems, safety systems etc.
• Takes care of the electrical and mechanical settings, documenting them where possible.
• Performs certain measurements, adjustments, tests and calibrations.
• Identification and selection of suitable parts and spares for the task. Evaluates the possibility or the necessity of repairing or replacing components. Ordering parts to maintain stock levels and stores accuracy.
• Make suggestions and propositions to improve the installations and to increase plant availability, quality, and safety.
• Gives technical support to operators.
• Support the Engineering Manager in the implementation of new equipment, plant, or services.
• Maintain control measurement equipment and weighing equipment.
• Respects Company policy concerning hygiene and safety during activities.

Ideal Role Requirements/Person

• Recognized engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering
• Building Services Experience: Boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration, effluent plant
• Use of a CMMS
• Ideally with a Food sector background
• Packaging machinery
• Accurate root cause analysis of breakdowns and effective corrective action carried out.
• Welding (Preferably TIG and Arc)
• Reads and interprets Electrical & Mechanical schematics diagrams.
• Knowledge of different types of maintenance methodology; PPM, CBM, PM, TBM.
