Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative
Location: Cheddar, Somerset
Hours: Monday to Friday (Standard 8am – 5pm) + Overtime + Call-Outs
Contract: Permanent
Overview:
We are seeking a Delivery Driver with Warehouse duties for our client in Cheddar. The ideal candidate will need to be reliable and proactive with a can-do attitude. This dual-role position involves carrying out all planned and reactive deliveries and collections (3.5 tonne flatbed transit) across the Southwest region. When not on the road, you’ll support the stores department with general warehouse duties, stock management, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete scheduled and reactive customer deliveries and collections.
- Handle delivery and collection paperwork accurately.
- Record incoming jobs and upload details (including photos) to EMIR system.
- Pack goods securely for dispatch.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stores area.
- Receive goods and replenish stock, including consumables.
- Support the Stores Manager with tasks to meet business needs.
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations and work with the H&S Manager to ensure standards are met.
- Be available for occasional out-of-hours deliveries and collections.
Skills & Attributes:
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to adapt to change and seek efficient ways of working.
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
