Deputy Manager / Room Leader (Dual Roles)

Full-time · 36 hours per week over four days

Are you an experienced Early Years practitioner who thrives on inspiring others and delivering exceptional practice? We are looking for passionate Deputy Managers / Room Leaders to join two well‑established, high‑quality nurseries within a supportive and forward‑thinking organisation.

These roles offer the chance to lead outstanding practice within a room while contributing to the wider leadership team and shaping the culture of the setting.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager / Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead and model high‑quality, child‑centred early years education and care.
  • Support, coach, and mentor practitioners to develop their skills and confidence.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager to uphold excellent standards across the setting.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families and the wider community.
  • Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing, and safety are embedded in everyday practice.
  • Promote reflective practice and contribute to continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from practitioners who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience within an Early Years setting.
  • Previous experience supporting or leading a team.
  • Confidence in coaching and mentoring others.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
  • A commitment to high‑quality, child‑focused care and education.
  • A reflective, positive, and professional approach.

Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification is available for candidates who meet the criteria and wish to progress their leadership journey.

Salary & Working Pattern

  • Salary: £29,952 – £33,696 (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: 36 hours per week over four days
  • Rolling day off each week
  • Shift pattern: Between 7:30am and 6:30pm
