Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Midsomer Norton, Radstock

Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: £35,000 to £42,000 per annum

Overtime: Additional compensation is provided at time and a half. Regular overtime is offered, as machines are often unavailable for repair during non-core hours.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a double-day rotational shift pattern (weekly rotation required).

Early finishes on FRIDAYS!!

Mornings:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 6am to 2pm
  • Thursday: 6am to 1pm
  • Friday: 6am to 12:30pm

Afternoons:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 2pm to 10pm
  • Thursday: 1:00 pm to 8pm
  • Friday: 12:30pm to 7pm

Holidays: 34 days, including Bank Holidays and Christmas shutdown.

Client: Our client is based in Midsomer Norton and is currently seeking an Onsite Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team of five engineers on various engineering manufacturing machines, both old and new.
  • Perform breakdowns, machine modifications, and project work, including installation, movement, construction, and manufacturing.
  • Utilise the excellent onsite facilities dedicated to supporting factory production.
  • Maintain a low staff turnover and contribute to a friendly and family-oriented environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in electrical maintenance and engineering principles.
  • Experience in working on diverse engineering manufacturing machines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Electrical Maintenance Engineer Skills Required

The ideal candidate for this role possesses a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering, including installation works, single and three-phase systems, various motor types, controllers, and programmable logic controllers.

They should demonstrate proficiency in working from circuit diagrams and fault identification to printed circuit board level analysis. While primarily an electrical role, knowledge or experience in pneumatics, bearings, belts, and other relevant areas would be highly advantageous.

Working to tight deadlines while maintaining a commitment to quality and safety is paramount.
