Next up is Tanya Perry, our Recruitment Consultant specialising in permanent and temporary recruitment and who has been a key part of the Riverside journey since 2017.
Bringing positive energy to recruitment
If you’ve ever spoken to Tanya, chances are you’ve come away smiling.
Known for her infectious laugh, boundless enthusiasm and genuine care for people, Tanya believes positivity is one of the most important qualities a recruiter can have.
“Recruitment is such a rollercoaster,” she explains. “There are so many highs and lows for both clients and candidates. Bringing positive energy, encouragement and an upbeat mindset makes all the difference. I always say that kindness costs nothing. I try to treat everyone the way I’d hope someone would treat me, and I truly believe the world would be a much better place if we all did the same.”
That outlook has helped Tanya build long-lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike, creating trust through honest communication and taking the time to truly understand what people need.
A journey that started with friendship
Tanya joined Riverside Recruitment in January 2017 after being made redundant from her previous role.
During what was an uncertain time, one of the first people she spoke to was Faye. Having met a couple of years earlier through a local pole fitness class, the pair had built a strong friendship.
After progressing through several interviews and even receiving multiple job offers, Tanya received a call from Faye inviting her to hear about an exciting opportunity at Riverside Recruitment.
What started as a chance to build a brand-new client desk, has turned into an incredible journey. “It’s fair to say I’m part of the furniture now!”
Over nearly a decade, Tanya has helped Riverside grow while developing her own role across recruitment, sales, marketing and wider team support.
Recruitment that makes a difference
For Tanya, recruitment has never been about simply filling vacancies.
“It’s about understanding people, businesses and their long-term goals.”
One of the proudest moments of her career perfectly illustrates why she loves what she does – “A few years ago, I placed a candidate into a Production Operative role. Today, that same candidate is the Operations Manager within the business! I’m really proud to have played a part in this”
Watching her career flourish has been incredibly rewarding, and the relationship she’s built with colleagues, clients and candidates over the years makes that success even more meaningful.
Stories like this are exactly why Tanya remains so passionate about recruitment.
Helping someone find a role they love or seeing a client build a successful team isn’t just a job—it’s the reason she comes to work every day.
Life beyond the office
Outside of work, family means everything to Tanya. She has shared the last 31 years with her partner, Harv, and together they’ve raised their three sons, now aged 28, 26 and 24. Whether she’s spending time with them or heading out for a countryside walk with Buddy, the family’s much-loved Beagle, making memories is what she enjoys most.
Fresh air, beautiful scenery and long countryside walks are her perfect way to recharge, especially when followed by lunch in a cosy pub garden. Buddy, meanwhile, keeps everyone entertained.
“If Buddy could talk,” Tanya laughs, “he’d probably tell everyone he hadn’t been fed… just to try and get another dinner!”

It’s about building genuine relationships, creating positive outcomes and making a real difference to people’s lives.
