Yard Operative/Site Labourer

Immediate start

Location: Castle Cary, Somerset, England

Hours/days: 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid breaks per day)

45 hours paid per week

Hourly Rate: £11.38ph

Full time Contract: Temp to Perm, candidate would work a 12 week probationary period and then would be provided with a full time, permanent contract.

Our client, who is a family owned business and are one of the UK’s leading recycling companies are seeking an additional person to join their friendly yard team based in Castle Cary.

The role is a manual role and heavy lifting would be to work outside in all weathers – some shelter available.

Duties will included, but not limited to:

• The unloading of 24ft boxes and 45ft Trailers of used tyres to then place down a hopper onto a conveyor belt.
• Shredding of end of life tyres
• Keeping the yard clean and tidy and a safe environment to work in
• General yard duties

The Candidate:

• The ideal candidate for this Operative role will have the ability to heavy lift as this is a physically labour intensive role that includes lifting tyres.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic, reliable
• Good communication skills
