Quality Assurance/Control Technician – Start Date: As soon as possible

  • We’re currently looking for a temporary QA/QC person to support our clients team for around 3–6 months, with the potential for longer-term employment and possible permanency. Ideally, they would require someone by the end of this month to help support and cover annually leave in august and to allow for at least 4 weeks of training.
  • Starting hourly rate: £12.50ph Rate of pay after 12 weeks: £13.50ph

HOURS: Staff rotate weekly, on mornings and afternoon shifts (with early finishes on Fridays).

Please note – All Staff MUST be able to work on both shifts’ patterns, and alternate weekly as follows:

  • Mornings – Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am – 1pm
  • Afternoons– Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 1pm – 8pm

Overtime: Opportunity for additional paid overtime during busy periods.

Our client is a well-established, Global Food Manufacturer of various food Ingredients in Wincanton. They specialise in flavoured butters, oils, marinades, glazes, rubs and sauces for all major UK retailers and are also expanding into food service markets.

Duties:

  • Conduct regular inspections of products throughout the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyse data from quality tests and inspections to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance protocols, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure product safety.
  • Document findings from inspections and tests accurately, providing detailed reports to management.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of quality assurance procedures and policies.
  • Participate in training sessions for staff on quality control processes and best practices.

Experience:

  • Ideally have some previous experience in a quality control or assurance role is preferred, particularly within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Be open to learning the quality side – we’re happy to train the right person
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Be confident enough to speak up and challenge when needed
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and their application in a practical setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

You will be required to follow the food safety & hygiene standards, by hand washing, and wearing the appropriate food safety & hygiene relatable PPE which will be provided – This includes a hair net, ear defenders (occasionally), a over shirt/jacket and white shoes. Any Jewellery (except wedding band), piercings, nail polish/extension must be fully removed prior to starting work.
