Food Production and Packing Operatives

  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
  • Location: Wincanton, Somerset
  • Contract: Temp to Perm which means that you would work a 12 week temp probation period before the company will provide you with a contract to work directly for them.
  • Starting hourly rate: £12ph – (11.50ph plus a 50 pence per hour shift premium)
  • Rate of pay after 12 weeks: £13ph – (12.50ph plus a 50 pence per hour shift premium)

Shift Hours: The company has 2 shifts – which rotate weekly, of mornings and afternoon shifts (with early finishes on Fridays)

Please note – Staff MUST be able to work on both shifts, and alternate weekly as follows:

  • Mornings – Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am – 1pm
  • Afternoons– Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 1pm – 8pm

Overtime: Opportunity for additional paid overtime during busy periods.

About – The company is a well established, Global Food Manufacturer of various food Ingredients. They specialise in flavoured butters, oils, marinades, glazes, rubs and sauces for all major UK retailers and are also expanding into food service markets.

The role would be joining their friendly food production/packing line teams. this role is working in a in a normal temperature environment, there is freezers however you would not be working in there continuously! Due to company growth, we are on the lookout for keen, reliable individuals who have had previous food production experience would like to join our friendly packing teams and make a difference.

The job role: Working within friendly teams, the role is steady paced on a production line in a food factory environment, with some heavy lifting up to 25kg involved. The production line work would involve a variety of different tasks depending on the order, including attention to detail, conducting end of line duties which include weighing, mixing, hand packing and filling of food ingredients, labelling, and cutting items operating simple key machinery.

Please note – Food safety & Hygiene protocol: As you will be handling food, you will be required to follow the food hygiene protocol with hand washing, and with wearing the appropriate PPE provided daily, which includes wearing a hair net, ear defenders (occasionally), a white jacket and white shoes (All Supplied). If you wear Jewellery: All Jewellery (except wedding band) , piercings, nail polish/extension will need to be fully removed prior to starting work.

We are ideally looking for staff who has had previous experience working in food production however full on the job training, PPE & induction will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE – To register before you start work – Candidates MUST be able to attend an initial registration appointment at our office based in Midsomer Norton before you start.
