Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer for Food Industry in Wincanton

Annual salary: £44,346.39 DOE

Job Type: Full time – Permanent

Working hours per week: 39 Hours

Shift: The company work on a rotating double day shift pattern of mornings and afternoon shifts(with early finishes on a Friday’s!)  Mornings – Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am – 1pm. Afternoons – Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 1pm – 8pm

Purpose of the Role: Carry out tasks concerning maintenance, repair, revision, and positioning of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment, Installations, Supporting Resources, Buildings, and Utility Services in a food production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical service, repair, replacement of motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
  • Electrical service, repair, replacement of motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution systems, safety systems etc.
  • Document electrical and mechanical settings
  • Perform measurements, adjustments, tests, calibrations
  • Identify and select parts, evaluate repair/replace options
  • Work with parts coordinator for stock levels
  • Suggest improvements for installations, availability, quality, safety
  • Give technical support to operators
  • Support projects department for new equipment, plant, services
  • Maintain control measurement and weighing equipment
  • Respect company hygiene and safety policies

Experience Required:

  • Recognized engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering
  • Building Services Experience: Boilers, air handling, refrigeration
  • Use of a CMMS
  • Food sector background
  • Experience with packaging machinery
  • Complex control systems
  • Accurate root cause analysis & corrective action
  • Welding: Preferably TIG and Arc
  • Reads & interprets Electrical & Mechanical schematics
  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies: PPM, CBM, PM, TBM
